In 2009, Nadya Suleman gained global fame as ‘Octomom’ after welcoming octuplets.
Prior to giving birth to the first surviving octuplets, Nadya was already a mother of six kids.
After gaining fame from giving birth to octuplets, Nadya, who was jobless, struggled financially and tried different methods to provide for her big family.
She tried unique ways like posing nude for photos, working briefly in adult entertainment,
joining celebrity boxing matches, and trying to trademark the nickname “Octomom” for business reasons.
Her motives and choices were often questioned, yet in the end, everyone acknowledged her efforts to support her large family.
As of 2013, Nadya decided to step away from the spotlight.
“There was definitely a catalyst — my girls, particularly my oldest daughter Amerah,” Suleman told People in 2016.
“She was about 10, and she started integrating my traits and behaviors.”She continued, “After I had observed my daughter beginning to emulate me, I saw her going down that same potentially destructive path, and I realized at that moment I’d rather be homeless in my van with all 14 kids than continuing down this path.
It was not what I wanted for my children.”The octuplets, Noah, Maliyah, Isaiah, Nariyah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Josiah, and Makai, turned 15 this year.
Their amazing mom marked the occasion by sharing a nostalgic picture of the siblings celebrating their first birthday.Nadya seldom shares pictures of her children,
but she occasionally updates her posts. When the eighth grade began, the mother proudly shared a picture of her octuplets and expressed,
“Feel proud of yourselves, children, for being kind, respectful, and helpful to your classmates, teachers, and school staff.”
She mentioned that her teenagers are outstanding examples for the sixth and seventh graders. She included a single red heart emoji and said,
“I love you,” before ending her tweet with a “side note to critics.”“Their older siblings did not want me to post a picture on their first day.
I respect their choice, so should you,” she wrote.Last year, Nadya celebrated her octuplets becoming teenagers by sharing a tribute post on Instagram.“You are all growing into some of the most kind,
humble, grateful and loving human beings I have ever known.
Each of you possess rare and unique characteristics, and are unlike any other child of your age, particularly in our society today,” she wrote at the time.
She characterized her children as “unselfish, compassionate, humble, and affectionate, reverent, devoted to God.”
She included: “I have never witnessed kids who care and desire to help others, especially those who are less fortunate,
as boldly and confidently as all of you do.”“You are not followers of this shallow world, but of a God that created and loves you unconditionally.
I do not know what I could possibly have done to deserve being blessed so bountifully,” she added. “I love you .
